Build Your First Agent
Create a Nexvio agent, train it with knowledge, test it, and publish it to your site.
Build Your First Agent
This guide walks through the first production path for a Nexvio customer support agent inside a team.
Select a team
Start from the team that should own the agent. Connections, integrations, contacts, conversations, tickets, analytics, actions, forms, helpdocs, and workflows are team-scoped in Nexvio.
Create the agent
Open Agents in the team and choose New agent. Nexvio creates an agent record, default configuration, public key, and content storage area for that team.
Add instructions
Use the agent configuration tabs to describe what the agent should do, what tone it should use, and when it should escalate. Keep the core instruction short, then use guardrails and actions for specific behavior.
Add knowledge
Open Sources and add the data the agent should answer from:
- Files for PDFs, docs, and uploaded reference material.
- Website crawling for public help pages and marketing pages.
- Text snippets for short policies or product descriptions.
- Q&A pairs for exact answers.
- Notion or Google Drive when those connectors are enabled for your team.
Test in the playground
Use Playground to test realistic customer questions before publishing. Check that the answer uses the right source, follows instructions, and invokes actions only when appropriate.
Connect actions
Add team actions for workflows the agent should perform, such as calling an HTTP API or invoking an MCP-backed tool. Lead collection and native ticket tools require deployment enablement; check Actions before using a catalog template.
Deploy
Open Widget and copy the JavaScript snippet. The standard website install loads https://app.nexvio.ai/api/agent.js and renders a <nexvio-widget> using the agent public key.
<script src="https://app.nexvio.ai/api/agent.js" async></script>
<nexvio-widget id="pk_..."></nexvio-widget>
Monitor
After launch, review Conversations, Contacts, Tickets, and Analytics to see how customers use the agent and where the knowledge base needs improvement.
